Caracas – The Jewish community of Venezuela rejected the statements of the founder and director of the channel La Tele Tuya Esteban Trapiello in the program “Par de Calvos” hosted by Vladimir Villegas and Pedro Carvajalino.

In that program, to the question of who he would have lunch with, whether with Adolf Hitler or with Fidel Castro, Trapiello replied that he would do it with both and that he would ask Hitler “why he did not finish what he wanted to do.”

The Confederation of Israelite Associations of Venezuela (CAIV) recalled that at least 6 million people were killed for the simple fact of being Jewish and as a consequence of Hitler’s ideology.

Of these, they highlight, a million and a half were children.

“This gives us to understand the dimension of such a detestable statement, to which he adds talking about the Holocaust in said program, saying: ‘I can’t believe that story,'” they denounced in a statement.

“I wasn’t there, so I can’t believe the story of the Holocaust. Everyone tells his story, and I was not in that story. I watch movies, and since the movies are from Hollywood that tell me the story in a way, the story depends on who tells it,“ were the textual expressions of Trapiello.

They add that denying the Holocaust, which meant the project of eliminating a people from the face of the earth because they were considered inferior, demonstrates “crass and supine ignorance, as well as delusional antisemitism.”
