Rotterdam – Antisemitic signs have been painted on a large portrait of Johan Cruijff in South Rotterdam this weekend: a swastika and a Star of David.

Johan Cruijff is mainly known for his period at Ajax, but the football legend also played a season at Feyenoord and won the national title with the Rotterdam team. In honour of the football player, a work of art was made of the player, with the words ‘respect’ and ‘fair play’ next to the image of his face.

The municipality has quickly cleaned the wall under the Breeviaduct, opposite the Kuip.
