The townspeople of Pruchnik beat and burned a doll with stereotypical Jewish characteristics

Pruchnik – As Christians mark the crucifixion of Jesus the weekend of Easter and Jews celebrate weekend the Passover Holiday that symbolizes their Exodus from bondage in Egypt, residents of the town of Pruchnik in southern Poland beat and burned a doll made to represent a Jew with stereotypical features.

A video circulated on social media of the antisemitic activity, which commenced with a large crowd amassed in the street with the oversized doll mounted on a fence in between what appeared to be two electric towers in a manner suggestive of a lynching.

The doll is then laid down on the street as mostly children use wooden sticks to beat it collectively and adults huddle around observing before setting it ablaze.

The doll was said to represent the Jewish biblical character of Judas Iscariot, known to betray Jesus by kissing him and referring to him as “Rabbi” in order to reveal his identity before he was taken to be crucified.
