Munich – Jewish institutions in Munich have received emails with antisemitic and right-wing content. As the police announced on Monday, the letters also contained “derogatory and inflammatory statements as well as insults”.

The mail was therefore received by the institutions on April 21. As a police spokeswoman said when asked by the German Press Agency, it was addressed to several institutions with a Jewish background, including a synagogue.

According to the current state of investigation, the author was a 37-year-old man from Berlin. This had already appeared several times in the relevant police department, it said in the message from Monday. He was charged with hate speech and threats. The police also classified the act as a crime relevant to state security.
