Altenburg – Unknown persons have smeared antisemitic on a commemorative plaque in Altenburg on Pauritzer Strasse. The plaque indicates that there was a Jewish prayer hall at this point, which was damaged during the 1938 pogrom night.

A swastika and large lettering, “Genocidal Israel” (Volkermörder Israel) was spray-painted on a Jewish memorial plaque in red paint.

A Star of David in the same color was also discovered on the front door of the district court.

The criminal police in Gera are now investigating whether the two acts are related. Police believe the crimes happened between Wednesday and Thursday. The police are now looking for witnesses.
