İstanbul – A football game between the Ulus Private Jewish High School (UÖML) and Üsküdar American High School (ÜAL) ended in an antisemitic scandal.
The full lineup of the American school players celebrated the victory against the Jewish school with a raised Nazi hand.
The students of Ulus Private Jewish High School (UÖML) did not want to comment on the subject, the parents confirmed the incident. UÖML director Funda Kara stated that they were very sorry for the students and that they were in contact with Üsküdar American Academy (ÜAL) and the organization that organized the competition. The Jewish Community of Turkey also confirmed the incident and stated that they took the necessary initiatives.
On the other hand, Üsküdar American Academy published a statement today on its official Twitter account, and stated that a person on its behalf contacted the Jewish high school regarding the matter, expressed an apology and that they launched the necessary investigation.
