Novato, CA – Antisemitic flyers have once again been distributed around Novato, this time in the area of Vineyard Road, police said.
Police found more than 70 leaflets “on sidewalks, streets and in driveways of residences” after they investigated around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, said police Lt. Sophia Winter.
“The flyers appear to be distributed randomly and we did not locate anyone who reported that they were a target of these flyers,” Winter said.
The flyers are “being classified as a hate-motivated incident,” or “an action or behavior motivated by hate but legally protected by the First Amendment right to freedom of expression,” Winter said.
Similar flyers were found in September around Ignacio Boulevard and Bel Marin Keys Boulevard, then again in November on cars parked near Novato and San Marin high schools. The leaflets have previously popped up in San Rafael, Mill Valley and other locations in Marin County.
