UK – “I will come on Sabbath when you can’t call police,” yells man while banging on doors of Jewish homes

Stamford Hill, London – The Jewish community in East London is allegedly being terrorised by unknown people ‘banging on doors violently in the early hours of the morning’. In a social media post on Twitter posted by Shomrim, a voluntary Neighbourhood Watch group from Stamford Hill in North London shows the door being violently pounded while someone also repeatedly shouting “hello hello,” and repeatedly pressing the doorbell.

In the video background, someone inside the home can be heard saying: “Who is it,” while the accompanying tweet reports of a separate incident where Jewish families have been threatened. The tweet says: “Multiple Jewish families on Moresby Road E5, woken up to banging and hammering on their own front doors daily for last few weeks at 6am, screaming, ‘I will come on Shabbos when you can’t call the police.’”

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that two reports had been made and that enquiries were ongoing but no arrests had been made thus far. They said: “On Friday, March 3 police received a report of a person knocking aggressively on the front door of a property on Moresby Road, Hackney.

“A similar incident was reported at a nearby address the following morning. Enquiries are ongoing; no arrests have been made.”
