Orlando, FL – The Orlando police released a statement condemning the “use of any derogatory comments toward anyone,” after a group of people handed out antisemitic flyers at a park in Lake Nona.
According to the tweet, the antisemitic flyers were being handed out in Laureate Park on Sunday afternoon.
Officers responded and consulted with legal regarding any enforcement action Chief Eric Smith said.
In a statement, Smith stated the department will take any action within its power to hold anyone who participates in this kind of activity accountable.
“We are a bias-free police department and respect the rights of all, regardless of any physical or personal characteristic or religious background,” Smith said in the statement.
Police continue to monitor the activity taking place today and have officers on the scene at this time.
