Germany – Knife threat after antisemitic chants at the central train station in Munich

Munich – A 15-year-old from Munich loudly shouted inflammatory statements with antisemitic content at Munich Central Station. A man intervened and was then threatened with a knife and beaten.

The teenager was on the subway in the main station and screamed loudly. According to the police, a 20-year-old then asked him to refrain from the antisemitic insults.

The 15-year-old then pulled out a knife and threatened his counterpart. He grabbed the knife-wielding hand, whereupon the 15-year-old punched him twice in the face and freed himself from the grip. The 20-year-old then fled.

A patrol from the subway guard of the Munich transport company noticed the incident carefully, alerted the emergency number 110 and pursued the suspect, who was also fleeing.

A short time later, a patrol from the underground station arrested the 15-year-old and handed him over to the police.

The suspect was reported for incitement to hatred, threats and bodily harm and released after the end of the police measures.

The Munich Commissariat for Politically Motivated Crime is responsible for further investigations in this case.
