Kuwait – Assistant principal under investigation for inviting students to visit Israel

Kuwait City – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Education has initiated legal proceedings against a British school counselor who urged students to go to Israel. In a statement on behalf of the spokesman for the Ministry of Education, Ahmed Al-Wahida, it was stated that legal proceedings were initiated after the parents of the students complained about the counselor’s exhortations to come and visit Israel.

It was also reported that “the management for private education opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and came to a decision to fire the counselor and to prohibit her from working in other private schools.” It was also reported that measures will be taken against the school following the violations it committed, and that the school management received “a warning not to repeat such behaviors in the future”.

It was also reported that the Ministry of Education expresses displeasure with the personal behavior of the consultant and emphasizes that it will not “hesitate to take legal action against any educational institution or its employees if they promote the Zionist entity in words or actions”.
